We leave San Antonio tomorrow morning, heading east to Florida. We had a wonderful time visiting with friends who drove down from the Fort Worth area. Yesterday we went on a river boat tour along the Rio San Antonio. This is certainly a beautiful city. Last night we headed back to the Riverwalk, which is decorated for Christmas. All the trees were hanging over the river with wonderful Christmas lights which gave the area the feeling of Christmas even though the temperatures were in the mid-60s. Today we headed over to the Alamo and rented the Discovery tour headsets, which was the best $5.00 a person I've ever spent. We could take our time since the tour was self-guided. We then headed out-of-town to the Natural Bridge Caverns. I didn't think I could do it, the climb was very steep and there were lots of stairs to climb but I did do the tour and the hike was wonderful. These caverns were discovered in 1960 and are breathtaking. On the way back to San Antonio we stopped for lunch at a Texas barbecue restaurant...I loved the beef brisket, some of the best I've ever had. We then headed over to the Buckhorn which is the oldest Saloon in Texas. They have a Texas Ranger Museum and an animal collection. This is where we got a chance to rest our legs for a while. We then headed back to the Riverwalk to a British Pub for dinner which was pretty decent food considering it was a British Pub. The four of us decided to go for a carriage ride through the downtown area which was just very nice and cozy. After we headed back to the car and to our hotel where we bid a fond farewell to Ron and Bev. We hope to see them again soon and also visit San Antonio.
